Nestled in a fertile valley surrounded by mountains near Mangshi, the capital of the Dehong region in southwestern Yunnan, lies the Warhorse Valley Estate, named after the former military horse stable.
The owner, Shaoquan, is a former navy serviceman whose passion for coffee brought him back to his hometown of Dehong. At the dawn of Yunnan's transformation into specialty coffee production, Shaoquan dedicated himself to coffee.
Shaoquan is known for his research-driven approach. To enhance the quality of his coffee, he studied cultivating and processing techniques in coffee countries of Central and South America. His relentless pursuit of excellence ensures that his coffee receives the best care. Collaborating with research institutes, he is also at the forefront of developing new coffee varieties, fermentation and processings.
